St. John Bosco Camps
We are excited to announce the founding of St. John Bosco Camps!
Seminarians, priests, and others have been working behind the scenes to found a 501(c)(3) nonprofit corporation to run summer camps. The name of the new corporation is St. John Bosco Camps and, under the protection of this great patron of the youth, it is assuming responsibility for Camp St. Peter and Camp St. Isaac Jogues. We want to assure everyone that this has nothing to do with the coronavirus, we have been working in the background for some time to found this corporation. Creating this corporation is an effort to further legitimize and improve the camps and to give them a solid foundation to ensure they continue in the future. Please know that, practically speaking, little will change in the camp experience, as they will continue to be staffed and run by Seminarians.
St. John Bosco Camps Purpose Statement
Saint John Bosco Camps (“Corporation”) is organized and operated exclusively for religious, educational, and charitable purposes in accordance with Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code. More specifically, the Corporation seeks to glorify God through operating Catholic camps and wilderness experiences in collaboration with Our Lady of Guadalupe Seminary, in order to help young people and others grow in faith and virtue while experiencing God’s grandeur in creation.
Prayer for the Camps
Collect from the Feast of the Chair of Saint Peter
O God, Who by giving the keys of the heavenly kingdom unto blessed Peter the Apostle, didst deliver unto him the power of binding and loosing; grant that, by the help of his intercession, we may be delivered from the bonds of our sins. Who livest and reignest with God the Father in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, world without end.
